Scholarships for Working Families

Every child deserves a nurturing place to grow, explore, and thrive — regardless of their family's income. At Westwood Academy, we believe high-quality early childhood education isn't a luxury. It's a foundation. And with your help, we can make it accessible to more families right here in our community. Our scholarship fund, Child Care Access for All, is a secure way for you to support working families.

Why Early Childhood Education Changes Everything

The research is clear: the first five years of a child's life are the most critical for brain development, social-emotional growth, and long-term success. Quality early education during this window lays the groundwork for how children learn, connect with others, and navigate the world around them.

But for many working families in Colorado, quality child care remains painfully out of reach. The cost of full-time early education can rival a mortgage payment — forcing parents, particularly mothers, to reduce hours, leave jobs, or piece together unstable care arrangements just to get by.

When families lose access to reliable, quality child care, the ripple effects are felt everywhere — in households, in workplaces, and throughout our local economy.

Your donation has the power to change that.

About the Westwood Academy Scholarship Fund

The Westwood Academy Scholarship Fund provides meaningful tuition assistance to working families who need it most. Scholarship recipients pay between $500 and $1,000 per month in tuition — a significant reduction from standard rates — with the scholarship covering the balance.

Who qualifies:

  • Children ages 12 months to 5 years old

  • Household income of $85,000 or less per year

  • Families seeking full-time enrollment at Westwood Academy

This isn't a token discount. It's the difference between a parent being able to work and not. Between a child having access to a high-quality, play-based learning environment — and missing out on those irreplaceable early years.

As scholarship parent Maya Monet shared: "Westwood Academy's scholarship has single-handedly made me, a single mom with no family help, able to work and provide for my son... I have a community where my son and I feel cared for and where I know my son loves to be and feels safe. I will be forever grateful."

Your Donation Goes Further in Colorado

Here's something we love about this program: Colorado donors can write off 50% of their donation on their Colorado state taxes. That means a $1,000 gift effectively costs you $500 — and 100% of the benefit goes directly to a child and family in our community.

It's one of the most impactful ways to give locally.

Child Care Access for All is registered with the Colorado Secretary of State and with the IRS. Our 501c3 application is currently pending.
